User Interface

Tell your audience a great story.

- What will your app do?
- Who are the users?
- Where will they use it?

Envision of a 30 seconds commercial at the beginning of the design process.

What kind of app you are building?
- Entertainment, Utility?

- Photos and Videos
If you are going to use photos and videos, make sure that you fill the screen and support landscape orientation.

Allow users pinch photos and videos.

Hide controls on tap.

Allow swiping to navigate the photos.

Use IOS video playback controls instead of custom designed controls, such as Airplay button

Reduce visual noise.

- Large data sets

13 pt is the min. font size you can use in iphone. 15pt is the most appropriate one.

Use different font size and bold type etc. instead of using different colors.

- Have a great App icon
Place it inside a folder to test the legibility. The best IOS icons are still distinguishable in small size.

Programmers adopt one of two general approaches when creating iOS apps: adopt the conventions completely or establish their own. Game makers tend to dispense entirely with stock controls (buttons and so forth) and create custom UI controls for all aspects of their app. Programmers of business or information-oriented apps tend to adopt the standard conventions.

Marketing Mobile Applications - Build your web site

Building a great website goes a long way in effectively marketing your product. Think of unique ideas and present your product in a way that will attract more visitors to your website. Show the app in action and also involve a human element. Tell people how and why they will benefit from buying your app. Your website will then act like your best marketing tool.

How to make Money

Using mobile ad networks like InMobi and AdMob is probably one of the best ways to earn by way of in-app advertising.

Loading Time

Anything under 5 seconds of loading time is fine. But if the app takes more than that, users will tend to become impatient.
